Keith in SA may be modest in size, yet it stands tall with its significant role in agriculture. This bustling rural community offers a lively and rejuvenating pause for travellers. Here one is immediately wrapped in the authentic embrace of country living.

A welcoming entrance to the Limestone Coast region from the north, Keith is distinguished by the grandeur of towering Gumtrees. They adorn the Dukes Highway and the verdant expanses of Lucerne fields stretching into the horizon.

In the 1940s it was discovered that certain vital trace elements could be vital for Keith. They could convert the Keith area’s very marginal, almost desert, wasteland into a rich agricultural area. Since then it has been at the centre of an area rich in grain crops and cattle grazing. It has been referred to as the lucerne capital of Australia as lucerne is a vital local crop.

Keith has many attractions to entice visitors to stay and explore this small country town.
