Cummins Aerodrome in SA is a small historic aerodrome, near the town of Cummins.
The town of Cummins is a typical small Eyre Peninsula wheatbelt town which straddles the local railway line. The features which characterise every Australian wheatbelt town – the bulk grain silos, the railhead, the solitary pub – inevitably define the town. However, unlike most wheatbelt towns, Cummins has some beautiful stone houses as well as a modern flour mill.
Surrounded by rich, undulating farmland, Cummins sits centre stage to the Lower Eyre Peninsula and acts as a gateway to the Eyre Peninsula’s east and west coasts. Just 45 minutes from Port Lincoln, Cummins is the perfect base for beach exploration. Pack your bathers, towel and sunscreen; within an hour you’ll be pulling up on the sandy shores of Tumby Bay, Greenly Beach, Farm Beach or Coffin Bay National Park.
