PS Industry Cruise
Commissioned in 1911, the PS Industry once worked for SA Water keeping the Murray River open to traffic by removing snags and later in the construction of locks and weirs. Following a hectic working life, the steamer was retired in 1969 and spent the next twenty years slowly decaying away as a static museum.
However, a group of volunteers formed in 1990 and the restoration of the PS Industry commenced in earnest.
To keep this historic, steam-driven vessel plying the River Murray, a team of enthusiastic volunteers work tirelessly to man and operate it to cover huge on-going maintenance costs.
Step back in time with a cruise aboard P S Industry – an authentic steam-powered work boat commissioned in 1911. One and half hour cruises are scheduled for the first Sunday of most months.
Enjoy complimentary Devonshire Tea with scones cooked in the wood fired oven. Charters and group bookings are available by appointment.
