The Meeka Rangelands Discovery Trail provides a fascinating insight into indigenous heritage, natural wonders, settlement history and rich, red landscapes.

Meeka Creek Trail

Enjoy an easy 3km walk around Meekatharra Creek and discover fascinating facts about Meekatharra’s history, its Indigenous culture and the natural wonders of the area. The Meeka Creek Trail has 17 interpretive panels along the trail highlighting some of the fascinating stories of Meekatharra.   

Meeka Lookout Trail

Walk or drive the 900m trail to Meeka Lookout. It will be worth the effort with seven large interpretive signs, a directional dial and stunning views over the town and the rich red Rangelands to greet you at the top. Take a drink or picnic to enjoy while you are there.

The Wirnda Barna Art Centre was established to develop and showcase Aboriginal artists from Mount Magnet, Yalgoo, Meekatharra, Yulga Jinna, Cue and Sandstone.

The artists draw inspiration from Badimaya & Wadjarri country and important cultural sites such as The Granites & Walga Rock, Wilgie Mia ochre mine & the region’s sensational wildflowers.

The Centre’s entering a new, exciting phase including drawing in other local artists. If closed, artwork exhibited & for sale from Visitor Centre.
