Portman House offers boutique studio or one bedroom apartments much loved by business travellers and tourists. We are renowned for our comfortable bedding and our strong internet, which is accessible via WIFI or ethernet cable and is free, of course.

All guests appreciate our undercover security parking, especially in the hotter months. If you’re driving a Tesla we offer free charging to guests, please let us know in advance so we can allocate an apartment with charger.

Portman House is perfectly situated when it comes to dining. Scone’s spectacular new restaurant The Cottage is directly opposite us, it is a must if you are entertaining or travelling with someone special. If you are self catering we have Coles right next door, and they are open until late. A complimentary light continental breakfast can be found in your apartment on arrival.

Belmore Hotel

The Belmore Hotel was built by local Matthew Miller in 1866 and has been an iconic building in Scone ever since. With its filigree verandahs, stone quoins and iron columns, The Belmore is one of the town’s earliest surviving buildings.

Originally named The Railway Inn, the hotel was renamed ‘The Belmore’ in 1871, in honour of the NSW Governor and fourth Earl of Belmore.
