RV4 – VH-VVR for Sale – fast, runs very well and lots of fun!
I completed my Vans RV4 build in 2004, Kit number 2320, & got the Spec. C of A on 8-12-2004.
The engine is a Lic., AEIO-360-B1F, with Christensen inverted oil system. Eng number L2553151A. Purchased new with the kit in 1990.
The airframe & Engine now have 520 hrs TTSN.
In March 2018 I removed the engine when it had 420 hrs TTSN, while I had all new hoses made. I had Brisbane Aero do a strip and test of the engine & set it up for a FP prop.
When completed, Dave Paynter advised that it achieved 200HP @ 2700 RPM when test run.
When I re-installed the engine, I replaced the magneto’s with new E-Mag Ignitions, and installed a new Catto FP 68” dia. X 76” Prop.
Along with the new hoses, I installed a new Gascolator & a cooling shroud to the new engine driven Fuel pump.
On the panel I replaced the original vac driven 3” AH & DG with new RC Allen TSO’d Digital Attitude ( RCA2610 ) & DDI (RCA 1510-3) units.
I also installed a new Flight Data FC10 fuel computer, and the whole exercise in 2018 with engine instruments & prop, set me back over $30K
The radios are : Com. Narco 810, ADF Narco 841 & Narco AT 150 Transponder. All working fine and with the last RAD 47 Insp. Done on 28-12-20.
Garmin 196 GPS. Electric flaps.
I had the moulded fibreglass Velo Pilot seat recovered recently and the passenger seat & back cushions redone to match.
Both front & rear seats have 5 point harnesses that are in good condition.
New brake pads last 100 hrly, and new MR due 14-04-22.
Whilst the aircraft has always been hangared, (when not out on a sortie), the airframe paint & cowls (for their age) are average.
The aircraft is now running very well, is fast & a lot of fun and ideal for someone of slight build !!
My only reason for selling will be to get into an RV8.
Asking Price : $84,500
