Faraway Bay Airstrip in WA is a popular destination for self-flyers. The airstrip includes tie-down and a parking bay for light aircraft. Return transfers to the lodge are via 4WD. A helipad is also available for those who arrive by helicopter. Permission is required from Faraway Bay for self-flyers to land, utilising Faraway Bay Airstrip. Only self-flyers staying at Faraway Bay can use the airstrip.
Faraway Bay is an inviting haven, nestled on a rocky hilltop overlooking the turquoise Timor Sea. The location, 280kms northwest of Kununurra, is in the remote and spellbinding Kimberley Coastal region of Western Australia.
With no road access, there is no chance of uninvited visitors dropping in. The camp is truly exclusive and only accessible by helicopter or light aircraft. So remote in fact that no regular air service is provided.
