Canberra Airport in the ACT is an international airport situated in the District of Majura, Australian Capital Territory. The airport serves Australia’s capital city, Canberra, as well as the nearby city of Queanbeyan. It also serves regional areas of the Australian Capital Territory, and southeastern New South Wales.
Operations at the airport are a mixture of jet aircraft and general aviation traffic. Australia’s VIP fleet is based at Canberra, as well as several fixed wing and helicopter flying schools. Other operations in the Canberra area may originate from hospital helipads or the Southcare Helicopter base and adjacent ATC Emergency Services Agency helipads (around 7 kilometres south of the airport).
There is no curfew at Canberra airport. A noise abatement area applies to most residential areas of Canberra and Queanbeyan.
