Armidale Regional Airport NSW is located six kms from the city centre and is operated by Armidale Regional Council. Located on the Northern Tablelands of NSW at an altitude of 3,556 ft above sea level. The Airport is security controlled with two active runways. The sealed main runway 05/23 is 1738 metres in length with associated runway and approach lighting. There is also a cross runway which is grassed at 1,116 metres in length for daylight operations only.
The airport is home to a number of aviation related businesses including a large aerial agricultural operation, rotary wing flight training and a jet charter operator.
Armidale Regional Airport NSW is a major Rural Fire Service base and active throughout the fire season using fixed and rotary wing aircraft on water bombing operations.
Full maintenance facilities are also available for both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
A $10 million upgrade of Armidale Regional Airport was completed in December 2017, creating a new terminal building.
